Human Heart: The 17th Journey of Fellowship
“#Nena_Pahana” (Lamp of Wisdom)
A Two-Day Educational Leadership, Personality, and Motivation Program
School: R/ Diyurumpitiya Saman Vidyalaya, Avissawella.
Date: February 21 – 22, 2025.
Conducted by: Human Heart Volunteer Social Service Organization.
The Philosophy of Leadership
Leadership personality is not just about standing at the forefront of a group. One stands out from a crowd because they have risen powerfully from within the team. To succeed in our life journey, we must learn to stand on our own. We must identify, sharpen, and temper the hidden excellence, skills, and talents within us.
Before leading a group, a cause, or an event, one must first evoke leadership qualities within themselves. You must discover the leader within to cross the winning milestones of life. To conquer the world, you must first conquer yourself.
A student becomes first in class through their talent—but this doesn’t mean others are not talented. It simply means the first-place finisher did something more than the person in second place. Tomorrow, that can change through decisions made from the deepest parts of one’s life. At Human Heart, we plant the seeds of leadership in that deep place, providing the necessary nutrients and care to ensure they flourish!
🔴 Program Overview
We discovered this school through the uncle of a close friend. Located on the edge of the Avissawella border, Diyurumpitiya Saman Vidyalaya became our focus after a suggestion from “Mangala Uncle,” whose home I had visited previously. Although the program was delayed due to our busy schedule and renovations to the school’s main hall, we successfully executed a dignified two-day session as planned.
🔴 Organizational Efforts
The Principal, Mrs. Mangalika, and the Sports Teacher, Mr. H.P.R.S. Wijeratne, coordinated closely with us to prepare for 90 students from Grade 8 and above. While the school prepared three houses for our team’s accommodation, we eventually stayed at the nearby home of one of our own members, ensuring seamless coordination.
🔴 About the School and Community
The School: Led by a wonderful Principal and a dedicated staff of three male and many female teachers, this school is a model of harmony and collective effort. There is a visible lack of conflict and a strong sense of mutual respect.
The Students: Truly “little gems” with innate talents and a hunger for progress. These are children who will one day bring honor to their families, schools, and the nation.
The Village: While the parents are incredibly friendly—providing delicious, home-cooked meals and refreshments for our team throughout the two days—the village unfortunately faces a heavy burden from the drug epidemic.

A unique aspect of this program is that we address long-term issues faced by both children and parents. Our qualified psychological and trained counselors provide practical, short-term, and long-term solutions for personal and family challenges.
🔴 Special Thanks
To Mr. Mangala for the connection.
To Mrs. Mangalika (Principal) and the teaching staff for the invitation and support.
To the Parents for their tireless hospitality and catering.
To the Parents of our member Chathumina for providing our accommodation.
Heartfelt thanks to our “Human Heart” family!
“To achieve what you have never had, you must do what you have never done.” We guide heroes to become the leaders of tomorrow, safely navigating through the rough darkness. Even a drop of dew on a blade of grass shines brilliantly when the sunlight hits it!
Look forward to the 18th “#Nena_Pahana” program coming very soon!
